Boating Safety

Michigan's legal blood alcohol limit for operating a boat is 0.08%, the same as for driving a car. Always designate a sober boat operator for your day on Torch Lake.

The combination of sun, heat, and alcohol can lead to dehydration. Be sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day, especially when consuming alcoholic beverages.

Glass-Free Zone

Please use cans or plastic containers on the water. Glass bottles are prohibited on the Torch Lake sandbar and can be dangerous if broken.
